In 1991, Dan Tangyin was born in Zhoushan City, Zhejiang Province, China. He obtained a bachelor's degree in Radio and Television Directing from East China Normal University and was admitted to the Department of Photography at the Beijing Film Academy in 2015, where he completed his master's degree in Film Photography and Production.
In 2018, he began working as a professional photographer, specializing in documentary photography. He produced a series of Chinese lifestyle aesthetics for online platforms such as Douban Time, Bilibili, and Himalaya, covering topics such as Song Dynasty paintings, calligraphy, and tea culture.
Filming locations include Taihang Mountains, Mount Wuyi, Xishuangbanna, Taiwan, and other places.
Since then, he has grown into a main cameraman, participating in large-scale documentary projects of China Media Group and Shanghai Television Station, providing more comprehensive support in terms of image style, workflow, and team management.
Besides documentaries, Dang Yin also serves as a director of photography for short feature films and has written and directed multiple personal works. Through this website, he hopes to share his professional experiences, allow more people to understand the process of image creation, and meet new collaborators.
